The New Bath Hotel is a traditional 18th Century Hotel set on the edge of the Peak District overlooking the Derwent Gorge. The New Bath after which the hotel was named was a naturally heated spa bath opened in 1745. Today the "new bath" serves as the hotel's indoor heated plunge pool and is still fed by waters of the mineral spring. Other leisure facilities include outdoor swimming pool (May to Sept) sauna and tennis court. As well as stunning scenery and walking trails, Derbyshire and the nearby Peak District are home to some of the country's finest stately homes including: Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Kedleston Hall. The Heights of Abraham offers spectacular underground caverns and stunning views but in more recent years has become rightly famous for its Cable Car system.
