Good stay at the Carlisle Swallow, handy for sightseeing, either Carlisle (15 min walk or Bus stop very close to the Hotel) or Visiting Hadrians Wall & other places in Cumbria. First impressions of the Hotel were not very good, a very busy car park, lots of vans & litter all around the hotel & car park (no bins anywhere) but inside the hotel it was clean & rooms basic but included a hairdryer, iron & board plus a trouser press. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room were very welcome.......

This hotel is good for a stop over. It has a small pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi which we were lucky enough to use on 2 occassions, both very quiet. The dinner, which was included was very good but the breakfast, unfortunately, was very dry as the hotel was quite quiet and had been sitting under lights for awhile. The rooms comfortable enough for a nights stay but the whole hotel could do with a bit of refurbishment, especially the leisure area. We would consider using this hotel again ......
Was impressed with the quality of dinner and the waiting staff are very pleasant. The rooms are being upgraded but are very clean.Comfy bed. Four star service at two star price.Nice distance for a brisk walk in to Carlisle after a hearty breakfast with plenty of choice. Will be returning soon....
On arrival the outside of the hotel did not look very good. but the stay was great. the room was clean and comfortable and the evening meals and breakfast where very nice. the staff where very helpful and friendly. I would recommend a visit....
