Rated 5 out of 5.
This was a lovely welcoming hotel. Reception staff were very friendly. It had a warm atmosphere. We were lucky to have been upgraded with our room. The food and the service were faultless as were the dining staff. The barman was also very friendly. Overall a great place to be. Will definitely go back....

If vegetarian or gluten free beware! Booking made for veggie & gluten/free. Nothing on menu stated "gluten free" or "Veg stock". Veg breakfast - no choice! Plate of solid scrambled egg,few pieces of mushroom, two tattie scones (dried out?)2 tomatoes! Fish both dinners, one v small. Wrote to hotel - reception had forgotten to pass info on. Apologies but we "should have told head waiter" (we did) V. unsatisfactory. Was told "There are signs all over hotel re dietary reqs.!" Other veg diner asked......
