The hotel was very empty, (only two other guests) and there had been a big rain storm which created a leak in the ballroom/dining room. The hotel was very empty, (only two other guests) and there had been a big rain storm which created a leak in the ballroom/dining room. The staff did apologise for the disruption but in fact we felt with small number of guests and the library being used instead was perhaps an improvement. The hotel lacked 'atmosphere' perhaps because of the time of year but we were impressed with the ambiance of the building and may return at a later date to see if we were unfortunate in the time of year thar we went.
