I accept that rooms are being refurbished on a rolling programme. Our room was OK and comfotable but the bathroom, although clean and functional, did need an urgent upgrade. Overall the food and the service were good, and although the choices on the A La Carte dinner menu were limited, the breakfast was good.. There were a number of niggling things that caused issue however. Dirty cutlery was an issue, rectified immediately, but a recurring theme throughout our stay. Tables in the lounge were left uncleared for a long time and the tables left "sticky". One final comment regarding the overall appearance of the hotel and main rooms was that not a single flower (real or artificaial) was on display. Also although numerous brackets were positioned around the building front and back (with an irrigation system) no hanging baskets were displayed.
