First built by Richard II for his half brother in the late 14th century, Dartington Hall sits at the centre of a large estate in a beautiful region of Devon. A unique hotel, its 50 rooms overlook its medieval courtyard, offering a quiet and tranquil setting for unique break in a beautiful countryside setting.

While the estate is home to hundreds of acres of beautiful Grade II listed gardens to explore and enjoy, there are also a range of other attractions and activities to keep you busy on your visit. Next to the hall, there’s the Barn Cinema, where you can catch one of the latest releases, independent films and live performances, as well as a café serving snacks and sandwiches throughout the day.

As the hotel is part of a large estate with a variety of eateries on-site, guests will be spoiled for choice for light snacks, coffees and treats during the day, but the main dining venue at Dartington is The White Hart. The restaurant has won several awards, for the quality of its food as well as for its commitment to sustainable sourcing – with fresh, seasonal ingredients featuring heavily on the menu. With a breath-taking setting in the main hall, the restaurant’s dining area is an open space with a truly historical feel although much about the White Hart is also extremely modern, from the stylish bar area, to their approach to the cooking. Making the most of local produce, the dishes on offer provide cutting edge British cuisine.
