Heart of England

The English Midlands are a culturally diverse expanse of England, with varied and contrasting locations from areas of rural beauty, to buzzing metropolitan centres. Experience the distinct cultural identities of the many cities here, and enjoy the delights of each. From Birmingham, the second most populated city in the United Kingdom, where visitors can experience everything from ballet, orchestras and dining in Michelin starred restaurants, to Stratford-upon-Avon the birthplace of William Shakespeare.

The area’s beginnings originate in the ancient Kingdom of Mercia and offer visitors an abundance of places rich in historical interest, from the majestic Warwick Castle, to more recent history from the industrial revolution.

From hiking, walking or cycling through the beautiful Peak District in Derbyshire, to taking in a show at the Curve Theatre in the melting pot of Leicester; with easy access from both the South of England, Wales and the North, there’s a lot to see and do in the Heart of England.

We love Heart of England because...

  • Culturally diverse
  • Links to ancient history
  • Areas of rural beauty
