Cambridge

Cambridge

One of the most romanticised cities in the world, and home to the celebrated University of Cambridge, this city is bursting with exciting history. A certain buzz can be felt when standing in the location where the atom was first split or where Newton formulated his theory of gravity. The history of the area stretches far back through the centuries into the Bronze Age, through Roman occupation and then under Viking rule.

A fantastic city to walk around, cars are not allowed into the city centre and so you can relax and take to the streets on foot as you get lost in the wonderful architecture on display. Despite the bombings of WWII, the area still features many old-fashioned buildings and narrow streets. The city is also a mere 50 miles from the capital city of London, and so is a great launch pad for a day trip.

We love Cambridge because...

  • Great for city walks
  • Wonderful architecture
  • Fascinating history
