Chipping Campden

Chipping Campden is a picturesque town, awash with historic buildings, some dating back as far as the 14th century. It is the perfect spot for an idyllic country retreat. Surrounded by the world-famous, captivating scenery of the Cotswolds, which stretches 800 square miles around, and with The Cotswold Way on the town’s doorstep, it is a great base for exploring the English countryside either on foot or bike.

Corinium Museum

As an important settlement in the Roman Era, Cirencester was once known as ‘Corinium’ and was Roman-Britain’s second largest city. Corinium Museum displays this spectacular history with one of the largest collections of Romano-British artefacts in the world. From mosaics, to reconstructed villas and coins, be amazed at the fascinating history of the area. In addition to the Roman history, visitors can also learn about the Anglo Saxons, Medieval history and the civil war. Exhibitions and events take place throughout the year, so make sure to check out ‘what’s on’ during your visit.

The Old Silk Mill

Setup as a ‘Guild of Handicrafts’ in 1902 by C.R. Ashbee, this beautiful silk mill is now a museum and gallery showcasing the fine artwork that was created here, as well as more recently by local artists. Silversmiths and metalworkers still work here, making intricate jewellery, which is also for sale. The mill is next to the high street and well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Kiftsgate Gardens

Three generations of one family have toiled in this garden, creating one of the most well-kept and beautiful gardens in the world. Open to the public, visitors come from all over to view the harmonious colours and tranquil surroundings. The gardens offer a fantastic view of the Cotswolds and are therefore an excellent place to come and plan a trek.
