In and around Risley

Nottingham Castle

This spectacular attraction was built back in the 11th century, commissioned by William the Conqueror himself. Prepare yourself for some of the most spectacular views in the country, with as much to see outside as there is inside. From the vibrant museum housed inside to the wonderful collections of art works, relics and armour, visitors can also take part in a guided tour to learn more about the castles secrets. First built in the 11th century and rebuilt in the 17th century, the castle sits high above Nottingham, commanding brilliant views across the city.

Peak District National Park

This pristine expanse of luscious moors, dales, rivers, springs and caverns is an ideal location for those who love the outdoors. Whether you’re mountain biking, hiking or planning a leisurely stroll, the Peak District has open spaces, stunning panoramic views and wonderful scenery for all. There are also a number of quaint towns and villages to visit here from Whaley Bridge to Castleton.

Derby cathedral

A wonderful building, holding the honour of possessing the second highest perpendicular church tower in England! Its origins lie in a small collegiate church erected in the year 943 AD, but subsequently rebuilt a number of times. There are a number of highlights to see here, from the breath-taking view from the top of the tower, to the stained glass windows and the bells, which are the oldest working set in the world, commissioned during the reign of Henry VIII!
