Darlington Railway Centre and Museum
The ‘Head of Steam’ museum offers an insightful look into the once thriving railway industry of Darlington. Located on the same infamous route of the first ever steam-worked public railway, this museum is comprised of three railway buildings and a number of attractions including the earliest surviving Darlington built locomotive.
Visit this grand medieval castle and learn more about the local history of the area. Standing for over 600 years this impressive castle is one of the best preserved in Northern England, with many examples of different types of architecture, such as Medieval, Victorian and Regency.
