Southend on Sea

Southend on Sea

Southend is a popular seaside town, located within Essex on the banks of the Thames estuary and within easy reach of London. Visitors enjoy returning to Southend each year for the seven miles of sandy beaches, the world’s longest leisure pier and its central location with great connections to London. There is also a thriving cultural scene, with art spaces, historic sites and museums across the town, as well as a variety of festivals held throughout the year. Southend has a growing reputation as a shopping destination with two large centres anchoring each end of the lovely high-street, which features even more shops – many of which are independent.

We love Southend-on-Sea because...

  • Seven mile sandy beach
  • Easy access to London
  • Thriving cultural scene
