Gloucester

A vibrant multicultural city of culture and history, with roots stretching back into the 7th century. Admire the historic architecture, including the wondrous cathedral as well as the port, which has been of great importance since the Roman times. The focal point of the city is Gloucester Cathedral, a must-see attraction that offers both awe-inspiring architecture and a quiet solace for personal reflection. The city has plenty more to offer, however, with a number of other ancient buildings and a good selection of museums for history buffs.

If you’d prefer to get busy on active holidays, the artificial ski slope is an exciting and unique way to spend the afternoon, while the rolling hills of the Cotswolds are on your doorstep – and not only provide an area of outstanding natural beauty, but also a perfect setting for walking and cycling. If you’re looking for a great place for golf breaks, there are plenty of courses in and around Gloucester and Cheltenham, not least the Gloucester Golf Club, which is close at hand.

We love Gloucester because...

  • Vibrant multicultural city
  • Awe-inspiring architecture
  • Artificial ski slope
