Harrogate

Located in Yorkshire, on the edge of the famous Yorkshire Dales and just 40 minutes drive from the city of York, lies Harrogate. This historic spa town is home to a number of local attractions and beautiful areas, as well as the Turkish Baths, leftover from the 19th century. Enjoy the many well-maintained flower gardens, excellent local museums and interesting shops on the high street. Make sure to stop in at Betty’s Café – a famous Harrogate institution for almost 100 years, Betty’s offers some of the best traditional cream teas around.

If you want to explore further afield, the Yorkshire Dales National Park is within a short drive, the area has a range of golf courses and the attractions of York and Leeds are both within easy reach. Visitors may also wish to visit the traditional market towns of Knaresborough and the cathedral city of Ripon, each within half an hour’s drive. The dramatic countryside is a mixture of fells and peaks that is speckled with charming villages and towns, ready to explore.

We love Harrogate because...

  • 19th century Turkish baths
  • Famous for it’s cream tea
  • Yorkshire Dales nearby
