Wakefield

Wakefield is a small city located on the banks of the River Calder within West Yorkshire. The Pennines are a short distance away, as is the metropolitan centre of Leeds and its many attractions and shopping opportunities. The city of Wakefield is full of character and features a number of attractions including two major shopping centres, the site of a battle from the Wars of the Roses, museums detailing the town’s part in the civil war and the industrial revolution and much more. The town also has a growing arts scene, with the area’s premier gallery, the Hepworth, well worth a visit.

We love Wakefield because...

  • Close to Leeds
  • Ideal for retail shopping
  • Premiere art gallery
