Bannockburn

Bannockburn

The historic and well-known town has a turbulent and fascinating history, and a bright future as a major tourist destination in both Stirlingshire and Scotland. The first thing visitors think of is certainly the Battle of Bannockburn, where Robert the Bruce won a decisive victory over Edward II and the English by using anti-cavalry tactics and cunning, routing their army and winning lands and territories. There is a lot more to this town than looking to the past though and visitors will love the warm Scottish hospitality and charming nature of this small town, as well as its fortunate location – being near a number of great attractions and places of natural beauty.

You'll also have many great options to choose from when it comes to golf, with the nine hole Brucefields Family Golf Centre and the Bannockburn Golf Club as well as the many, scenic courses of Stirling nearby.

We love Bannockburn because...

  • Ideal for history lovers
  • Historical battle sites
  • Charming Scottish hospitality
