Deeside Activity Park

Crathes Castle and Garden

Surrounded by lush forests, this historical castle dates back to the late 16th century and is a prime example of a grand tower house. Marvel at the unique architecture, with turrets and towers jutting out from the building, and learn the history of the castle and the local area. Many of the interior rooms have been preserved with the furnishings, decorations and paintings remaining as they were hundreds of years ago. The walled gardens measure 1.5 hectares and consist of a number of tremendous herbaceous and flowering plants, ensuring a lovely display at all times of the year. The castle and grounds are open to visitors throughout the year, so too is the teashop and visitor centre.

Aboyne Golf Club

This beautiful 18 hole golf course features awe-inspiring views of the surrounding countryside of Aboyne and Royal Deeside as well as Aboyne Loch. Well maintained and a great test for golfers of all abilities, a round of golf here is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. The clubhouse is on hand to stop over for a light lunch or hot drink, with a well-stocked golf equipment shop also available as well as the expert advice of the passionate staff.
