Spean Bridge

Spean Bridge

This charming village is located at the foot of the great glen within an area known as ‘the outdoor capital of the UK’. With ample opportunities to explore the nearby mountain of Ben Nevis, the beautiful expanse of Glen Nevis, as well as Loch Linnhe, Loch Eil and Loch Lochy, visitors are spoilt for choice. Take your pick of hill walking, climbing, hiking, strolling and cycling around the majestic Highland countryside.

For those with an interest in the history and culture of this fascinating part of Scotland, the informative West Highland Museum is a must visit. The glorious St Andrew’s Church is another great place to visit to learn about the town as well as the town’s namesake, the ‘Old Fort’, which has a storied yet mournful history. Two garrisons of soldiers were stationed here, who later took part in the Glencoe massacre under Captain Robert Campbell
