Arrochar

A friendly and traditional Scottish town, set within the natural splendour of Argyll and Bute. Arrochar is an ideal location for a holiday, with many nearby sights, sounds and beautiful places to visit. The area is a great launching pad for those travelling through to the Western Coast of Scotland, or Glasgow city, which is only a one hour drive away.

The town itself is nestled upon the banks of pristine Loch Long, a sea loch that is surrounded by the towering Arrochar Alps. This beautiful location gives visitors ample opportunities to explore the great outdoors, hike up the mountains, cycle the area, take ambling walks and admire the unique scenery on offer. The town centre fosters a great neighbourly atmosphere, with small shops, local pubs and restaurants for travellers to visit and enjoy a hearty meal or a dram of whisky.

We love Arrochar because...

  • On the banks of Loch Long
  • Great for outdoor pursuits
  • Explore by cruise or seaplane

The Cobbler

Also known as Ben Arthur, this mountain is one of the most popular peaks among many in the area, with a manageable ascent to the top of the lowest peak, where you’ll enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the surrounding area. The three summits of Ben Arthur form a wonderful backdrop to view from ground level and the surrounding area is perfect for rambling and exploring, as well as a spot of wildlife watching.

Cruise Loch Lomond

Take to the water and enjoy a different perspective on the wonderful Argyll scenery, with a range of vessels touring the Loch from different destinations around the shore, including Tarbet. Operating all year round and featuring a live commentary explaining more about the Loch, this is a fantastic way to spend a few hours. In the colder months, sit inside with a warm cuppa and admire the scenery without facing the elements.

Loch Lomond Seaplanes

A simply awe-inspiring and memorable experience, this iconic seaplane takes off from the water for a magnificent flight over Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The view from the air of this beautiful corner of Scotland has been known to bring a tear to the eye and is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
